Fathers and Sons Outing

Kai and I went with Grandpa to his Fathers and Sons outing and we had a great time. It is so
good to get up above everything (literally and figuratively) and see the beauties of nature. Kai found a new little friend named Grady and the highlight of their adventures was following a group of deer across the meadow and into the woods. That got our first set of clothes nice and wet, but was well worth it. The rain cut our hike pretty significantly the next morning but Kai seemed to care less and less the wetter he got.

Some Funny Stories Courtesy of Kai

Kai woke up the other night and ran into the bathroom with me. I could tell he needed to go potty so I told him to to go, but he just stood there and peed in his Pajamas instead. So I cleaned him up, changed his pants and got him back in bed. I tried to have a conversation with him about why he did that, but he was acting a little funny so I let him go back to sleep.

The next morning (Sunday), I was showering when Jeremy came home to get the kids dressed for church. Jeremy found Kai in his room crying and distraught, and asked him what was the matter. Kai cried, "Jesus stole my striped pants!" He was convinced that Jesus had taken his pants in the night! He didn't remember a thing from the night before, he had been sleep walking. Even after Jeremy reminded him that I was the one who had changed him, he still believed it was Jesus! We promised him that Jesus didn't want or need his pants and laughed for a long time!

A few days later Kai and Natalie were playing boat on the couch. They were pretending to sail to India. Well, I told Kai to go get something in his room and he broke down, sobbing, "I can't, I'm in a boat....I can't walk on water!" I tried not to laugh as I told him to steer the Boat to land and walk on land to go get it.  Once again, he started crying, "But it's so far away!" Never mind! He was a little tired that day. : )

And lastly.... We ate restaurant leftovers for dinner the other night, Jeremy had fish. He asked the kids if they wanted some (we NEVER eat fish at our house because neither Jeremy or I love it). Well, they both said yes, but Kai was confused, "You mean this is fish, like a fish that swims in the water?! Then where are the eyes?" Jeremy explained what they do with the head and he seemed satisfied and then took a bite, looked at it and said, "So fish has chicken inside?" Yep, sure does! haha We laughed for quite a while!

Family Pictures - May

It has been great to send pictures to Nicole's birth mom every month because it forces us to get out the camera. Here is a link to some from May.
